Any unsolicited information we receive from you will not be treated as an attorney-client confidence.

SLW has tried to comply with all legal and ethical requirements in compiling this Website and SLW Sites. We do not seek to, and will not, represent clients based on their review of any portion of this Website or SLW Sites that does not comply with applicable legal or ethical requirements.

Additional Notice to California Residents

In the past 12 months, we have collected the Personal Information described above, and disclosed it to the third parties for the reasons identified above, as listed in “Disclosure of Personal Information” and “Purpose of Collection.”  The Personal Information listed in “Personal Information Collection” may be categorized as follows under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Identifiers
  • Categories of Personal Information described in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)
  • Commercial information
  • Internet or electronic network activity information
  • Professional or employment-related information
  • Sensitive Personal Information, including certain government-issued identification numbers, account login credentials in combination with credentials that allow access to an account, and Personal Information of consumers we have actual knowledge are under 16 years of age.

“Sale” and “share” defined: Under CCPA, a “sale” generally means disclosing Personal Information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration, and a “share” generally means disclosing Personal Information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether for monetary consideration.

We engage in targeted advertising, using cookies or similar Tracking Technologies, which may be considered “sales” or “shares” of Personal Information according to CCPA. Accordingly, in the last 12 months, we may have “sold” or “shared” identifiers, commercial information, and internet or electronic network activity information with third-party data analytics providers and marketing or advertising networks. You may opt out of this activity at any time through the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the Website footer, or by contacting us at 1-833-996-0684 and asking for our Data Security Officer or completing the form linked here.  We treat opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information for that browser or device.

Minors: The CCPA imposes additional requirements where a business has actual knowledge that a consumer is under 16 years of age. Where an SLW Site or service has a minimum age requirement, as described in the "Children" section above, we may have actual knowledge that a participant is under 16. Before selling or sharing the Personal Information of any consumer we know to be under 16, we obtain affirmative authorization: from the minor themselves if they are between 13 and 15 years of age, or from a parent or guardian if the minor is under 13, as required by Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.120(c) and its implementing regulations.

We use Automated Decision-Making Technology (“ADMT”), as described below in the section titled “Automated Decision-Making Technology at SLW Academy.” We do not otherwise use ADMT except as permitted for advertising or other activities that would not constitute a “significant decision” as defined under Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 11, § 7001 (Jan. 1, 2026).

We may use Sensitive Personal Information in connection with the automated decision-making described above. You have the right to direct us to limit our use of Sensitive Personal Information, including for this purpose, beyond what is necessary to perform the services you request or for the other purposes specified in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.121. You may exercise this right using the contact methods above.

Automated Decision-Making Technology at SLW Academy: SLW Academy uses automated scoring to decide whether you earn a course certificate. When you complete a course quiz, our learning platform compares your answers to the answer key and calculates your score. If your score meets the course’s passing threshold, the platform issues your certificate. If it does not, no certificate is issued. No person reviews the result before it is issued. Only your quiz answers affect the outcome. Your name and account details are used only to identify you and issue the certificate.

You may (1) appeal a certificate decision to an SLW staff member who will review your quiz and any information you provide and who has authority to change the decision, and (2) request information about how automated scoring was used in your case, including your score and how it determined the outcome. To do either, contact us at 1-833-996-0684 and ask for our Data Security Officer or by completing the form linked here.

We verify requests by confirming they come from the email address on your Academy account or by asking you to log in. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. We will not retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
