SLW Labs

The home for SLW's internal innovation, tools, and strategic AI + IP guidance.

Slw Labs Hero

Innovating with Purpose. Advancing with Perspective.

SLW Labs is the firm’s internal innovation platform: a hub-and-spoke program that brings together proprietary tools, practical frameworks, and emerging technology to solve real-world challenges for our clients and our people.

A small core team maintains the shared infrastructure, security standards, authentication, audit logging, retrieval, and governance practices that every Labs product is held to. Distributed builders across the firm including attorneys, technologists, and external development partners working under SLW direction create domain-specific workflows on top of that platform.

From simulation and data analysis to AI-powered insights and IP strategy, SLW Labs reflects how we explore what's next and apply it where it matters most: in tools, processes, and guidance that support stronger work for clients and better systems for our people.

AI in the Patent Office: What In-House IP Teams Should Know Before Examination Changes the Record

Patent offices are moving AI from experimentation into search and examination support workflows. For in-house IP teams, the practical response isn’t more automation for its own sake; it’s to strengthen prosecution readiness before filing so applicants can make the most of earlier, better-informed examination.
