SLW Announces Comprehensive AI Strategy, Including Partnerships with Industry Leaders DeepIP, Black Hills AI, and Butler Labs

Minneapolis, MN – SLW, a leading intellectual property law firm, recently announced its partnership with DeepIP, marking another milestone in the firm’s comprehensive artificial intelligence strategy. This collaboration adds to SLW’s existing partnerships with Black Hills AI and Butler Labs, positioning the firm at the forefront of AI-enabled patent practice.

“Our mission has always been to provide exceptional value through technological innovation,” said Tyler Nasiedlak, Principal in SLW’s Minneapolis office. “By combining DeepIP’s capabilities with our existing AI partnerships, we’re creating an unparalleled technological ecosystem for patent services.”

SLW’s AI strategy now encompasses three industry-leading platforms:

    • DeepIP’s advanced AI tools for AI-assisted patent drafting and prosecution
    • Black Hills AI’s Otto™ Patent Center and Otto™ Prosecutor for AI powered file wrapper analysis and automated document generation
    • Butler Labs’ eve® platform for verified generative AI applications in legal practice, including patent drafting and prosecution.

Through Black Hills AI’s Otto™ Patent Center, SLW attorneys can leverage AI-powered analysis of patent portfolios and file histories, while Power Prosecutor® streamlines response preparation and integrates seamlessly with DeepIP’s analysis capabilities. The eve® platform from Butler Labs provides additional generative AI capabilities, supported by verified results and practice-specific playbooks.

“This multi-platform approach allows us to select the best tool for each specific task,” explained Garth Vivier, Principal in SLW’s Austin office. “Whether we’re using AI-assisted drafting, analyzing office actions, or managing portfolios, we’re using AI to enhance our attorneys’ expertise, not replace it.”

“AI isn’t about making our attorneys superhuman,” added Suneel Arora, Principal at SLW. “It’s about enabling them to be human and better focus for longer by helping carry the enormous intellectual load of patent preparation and prosecution.”

The firm’s AI toolkit includes:

    • AI-assisted patent drafting and prosecution support
    • Real-time practice alerts and error prevention
    • Portfolio-wide claim tracking and mapping
    • AI-enhanced infringement detection
    • Strategic continuation analysis
    • AI-supported inventor interviews
    • Quality control and enhancement tools

SLW’s investment in these technologies reflects its commitment to combining human expertise with cutting-edge AI capabilities. The firm continues to develop proprietary tools that complement these partnerships, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all aspects of patent practice.
