Computer-Implemented Inventions in the EPO, Part I
In this webinar, Daniel Closa from the EPO explores a problem-solution approach to computer-implemented inventions in the EP. He discusses pertinent parts of the EPO’s Guidelines for Examination, as well as the EPO’s current examination practice. This webinar covers topics such as: inventive step and claims with technical and non-technical features; a problem-solution approach for mixed-type inventions; analysis of features contributing to the technical character; the objective technical problem; and technical effects.
This webinar is the first in a two-part presentation on computer-implemented inventions, with the second part taking place on September 29. In a unique interactive aspect, the live audience for the September 1 presentation can vote on what specific subject matter they would like to see on September 29, for example AI or computer games.
Maureen Kinsler, principal at SLW International, will moderate.
