Pattie Hultman has been a paralegal at Schwegman since 1994, assisting with PCT and USPTO filings. As an intellectual property paralegal, Pattie assists attorneys with patent prosecution, including filing applications, filing responses to office actions, monitoring the docket for upcoming deadlines, and handling USPTO, client and foreign associate correspondence. Her experience includes working in intellectual property law with a focus on patent prosecution, including US and PCT. During her time at Schwegman, Pattie’s work has predominantly included working with large client portfolios, which include clients outside of the United States. She also serves on University client teams, and teams relating to medical devices, mechanical engineering and software.
Pattie has assisted numerous attorneys with various tasks in the Intellectual Property field. Additional duties include communicating with USPTO Examiners and other personnel regarding routine matters as necessary; updating and managing processes and procedures for multiple clients; reviewing client correspondence, preparing and verifying custom reports (status of pending applications, etc.), mentoring/training new paralegals, reviewing transferred-in files from new clients, as well as other assigned tasks.
