Jeff Cook is a registered patent attorney with over 15 years of experience helping clients develop legal strategies to solve business problems, create and protect competitive advantages, and mitigate risks.  He enjoys working with a wide range of technologies, ranging from medical device and mechanical inventions to wireless technology and complex systems. 

Jeff’s legal practice includes patent portfolio development, freedom-to-operate analysis, litigation support, diligence, open source software, licensing, and a variety of other transactional matters.  Drawing on his in-house background in the medical device industry, Jeff emphasizes partnering with clients and in-house counsel to develop practical, business-centric strategies and solutions.  He also enjoys using technology tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of legal service. 

Prior to joining Schwegman, Jeff worked as in-house legal counsel in a variety of roles at Boston Scientific Corporation and Guidant Corporation.
