Dr. Bob Naismith is a UK and European Patent and Trademark attorney and Of Counsel at Schwegman Lundberg and Woessner, P.A. Bob is accustomed to dealing with a wide range of technologies in the electrical and mechanical arts and has considerable experience of proceedings before the European Patent Office, including advocacy at Oral Proceedings such as Oppositions and Appeals. He also has experience of litigation in the UK and US.
Bob graduated with an honours degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Glasgow University and then after working for a period as a graduate engineer in the offshore oil and gas industry obtained a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from the University Of Strathclyde. This technical background has allowed him to work on a wide range of technical matters in medical products and oil and gas related inventions as well as working on a wide range of subject matter in the electronics and software fields including digital and analogue circuits, satellite communication systems, computer network and software related inventions. Bob worked in private practice as a qualified UK and European attorney for more than 30 years representing a wide range of clients from large international corporations to universities and small start-ups. He also spent several years living and working in Canada where he qualified to practice at the Canadian Patent Office.
