Michael Mischnick is a registered patent attorney at Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner. His practice includes patent procurement, portfolio analysis, technical analysis, and strategic counseling, focusing on chemical engineering, chemical processing, materials science, medical devices, and biomedical technologies. Michael also has prior experience with semiconductor device design and fabrication, internet software, computer storage devices, mechanical power tools, and fasteners. Michael has also represented clients in trademark litigation and trademark protection and enforcement. Michael received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University, where he was a member of the Engineering Honors program, and received his law degree from the University of Minnesota. While in law school, Michael was a member of the Minnesota Law Review. Prior to law school, Michael worked as a patent agent at Beem Patent Law Firm in Chicago, IL. During law school, Michael worked as a law clerk within 3M’s Office of Intellectual Property Counsel and at the Minneapolis office of Fish & Richardson. Michael also worked as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Patrick J. Schiltz, where he assisted the Judge on patent litigation cases. After law school, Michael was a litigation associate at Fish & Richardson (2007-2009) working on trademark litigation and enforcement and on patent litigation relating to medical devices, computer hardware, internet software, and various other technologies. Michael was also a patent prosecution associate at Shumaker & Sieffer (2009-2011) working on patent preparation and prosecution relating to many technologies, including medical devices, computer storage devices, and semiconductor device design and fabrication.
