PTAB and the CRU

A large number of clients and attorneys are not experienced with reissue, reexamination, and AIA patent trials (inter partes review, covered business-method patent review, post-grant review, and derivation proceedings).  That makes a lot of sense, because relatively few patents go through such review and additional scrutiny.  But when stakes are high, it comes in handy to have some background in these areas to get up to speed quickly on patent reexamination and review options.

Forgive me if this is too basic, but many people confuse the various proceedings and the decisionmakers for each proceeding at the Patent Office.
