David R. Cochran is a registered patent attorney. David received his B.S. degree in engineering science from the University of Notre Dame, his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University, and his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. As an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Clemson University, David taught courses in solid state electronics, fiber optics, and optoelectronics, and was a member of the VLSI reliability center at Clemson. As a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories, David was a system engineer supporting various aspects of AT&T’s fiber optic network, working on intra-office architecture, transmission equipment, central office planning,  and network restoration. David joined the Intellectual Property Business of Lucent Technologies, which included Bell Laboratories, where David worked as a licensing manager, primarily licensing patents of Lucent Technology and Bell Laboratories to companies in Europe and Canada. He is a member of the bars in Minnesota, Florida, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
